The media side consists of Bloomberg intelligence operation and its 2,400 journalists, which includes its worldwide cable television channel, network page and other outlets such as Bloomberg Business Week. This part of Bloomberg brings in just 4 percent of the companys revenue (Jager, 2013).This push-and-pull among the intelligence service and business sides of Bloombergs China operations dates back to 2012, when Bloomberg News published a series of stories about the personal wealth of Chinas new president Xi Jinping and his family (Xi Jinping Millionaire... ...and not journalism. While political conditions in China are far from ideal, it is possible those conditions will change in China over the course of years.
